The surgical technician degree program provides hands-on training for students seeking entry into the fast-growing surgical technician and surgical assistant fields.
Students in our career-focused program are eligible to earn National Certification through the National Board of Surgical Technologists and Surgical Assistants (NBSTSA). This certification provides them a competitive edge for entry-level employment in their field.
After earning a surgical technician degree, students can compete for entry-level positions that include:

The surgical technician associate degree program includes core courses that expose students to the technical aspects of surgical technician training. Courses include:
Students also complete general education courses that address critical thinking, verbal and written communication, humanities, mathematics, as well as natural and social sciences.
Each course stands alone as a unit of study and is not dependent upon prerequisite training. A student may enter the program at the beginning of any course and continue through the sequence until completion of all courses.
Students will complete an externship in a medical setting, after successfully completing all classroom courses.
