AEG reserves the right to append or otherwise modify this Statement at any time, so please review this page periodically to check for updates. This Statement is effective as of December 1, 2005.

Information Collection and Use

AEG is the sole owner of any information collected on this Site and will not share, sell, or rent this information other than as disclosed in this Statement. AEG collects information from users at several different points on this Site. AEG automatically collects certain anonymous information to help optimize site performance. Other personal information that users voluntarily provide is used for education services and marketing purposes, and may result in follow-up communications.

Information Collected Automatically

Certain general, non-personally identifiable information is automatically collected at this Site. For example, a user's browser or Internet session automatically provides the user's type of browser (e.g., Internet Explorer, Netscape Navigator), Internet domain (e.g., AOL, Netcom, Earthlink, etc.), operating system (e.g., Windows, Macintosh, UNIX, Linux), navigation path (i.e., the URLs of a previously visited site, AEG web pages visited, and a subsequently visited site). AEG uses IP addresses to analyze trends, administer the Site, track user movement, and gather general demographic information for aggregate use. Information is collected from visitors via web access logs, scripting languages, email, and html forms. Additional information collected may include log-generated statistics and computer configuration. Information collected is used for reporting statistics, business improvement, account maintenance, and site improvement.

Information Requests and Registration Information Provided by Users

This Site is designed so that you may generally browse it without providing any personally identifiable information. Certain areas of the Site, however, may require or allow users to complete a registration or contact form in order to use some of the features of this Site. During registration, a user is required to provide his or her contact information (e.g., full name and email address, physical address, or telephone number). This information is used for marketing, for example, to contact the user about the programs, courses, or other topics on the Site for which he or she has expressed interest. Similarly, such information may be used to enable a user to retrieve a lost password. AEG may associate any voluntarily submitted information with other automatically collected information. Users may be requested to create or provide a unique identifier, such as their social security number or student ID number. Additional demographic information, such as mailing address, education, employment, birth date, age, position, technical skill, etc., may be provided at the user's option. Users may choose not to provide this information online and may, instead, call AEG and request to have information sent to them.

Privacy of Children

AEG is committed to making the Site safe for all of its visitors and to protecting the online privacy of children. For this reason, AEG does not collect personal information from children under 13. AEG encourages parents of children under 13 to regularly check and monitor their children's use of e-mail and other activities online and to consider using parental control tools available from online service providers and software manufacturers. These tools may be used to prevent children from disclosing their name, address, and other personal information online.

Cookies

AEG uses cookies to remember if a user has previously logged in while he/she is on the Site. This allows AEG users to avoid logging in multiple times during a session, thereby saving time. This small piece of program code resides on users' computers so that they are not required to re-enter contact information as they move from one of AEG's Sites or pages to another. Users have the option of disabling or not accepting cookies by changing the preferences on their browsers*. If a user opts to disable cookies, he/she will still be able to use the Site, however, he/she might not be able to use the areas of the Site that require cookies. No personally identifiable information (e.g., email address, name) is collected with the cookies. *Different browsers provide different cookie-settings. With Netscape you can ask the browser to allow, warn you, or completely disable cookies. Internet Explorer has an additional feature where you can specify different settings for different security zones. You can choose to allow sites to create cookies for you in your "trusted sites" (like AEG), to warn you before you create them in your local Intranet zone, and to give you an option to never allow them in a "restricted zone." See the "Help" section of your particular browser for more information on working with cookies.

Sharing

AEG reserves the right to share aggregated demographic information with its partners, affiliates, advertisers, sponsors, and other third parties. This information is not linked to any personal information that can identify any individual person. AEG may share such information with third parties performing services for or on behalf of AEG. Such services may include communications, database, event management, hosting, mailing, and marketing services.

AEG reserves the right to use or disclose any information as set forth herein or otherwise with your permission, or in special circumstances, such as when such disclosure is believed to be necessary to comply with the law or regulations, to protect the integrity of the Site, to fulfill your requests, to cooperate in any law enforcement investigation or an investigation on a matter of public safety, or to respond to claims that any files or data violate the rights of third parties, or protect the rights, property, or personal safety of AEG, its users, or the public. AEG will abide by all applicable laws concerning the release of personal information. For example, AEG will make such disclosures necessary under the reporting procedures of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act.

Communications

AEG may use certain contact information that it has collected to send you information about products, services, updates, or other information that may be of interest to you. AEG may share this information with its educational partners to bring similar information to your attention. To opt out of such marketing communications, please submit an email request to have your e-mail address or other contact information removed.

From time-to-time AEG may request information from users via web surveys. Participation in these surveys is completely voluntary and the user therefore has a choice whether or not to disclose this information. Survey information will be used for purposes of monitoring or improving the use and satisfaction of this Site.

Correction/Updating Personal Information

AEG will endeavor to enable users to remove previously provided personally identifiable information. AEG will use reasonable efforts to remove a user's personally identifiable information from the then current Site at any time upon written request to pr@anthem.edu. Such removal of personally identifiable information will not ensure the permanent removal of all such personally identifiable information from the Site. For example, such personally identifiable information may remain in AEG's archival or backup copies of the Site.

Notification of Changes

AEG reserves the right to change this Statement from time to time and such modifications will be effective on the date that AEG posts the modified Statement to the Site. AEG will use information in accordance with the Statement under which such information was collected. If at any point AEG decides to use personally identifiable information in a manner different from that stated at the time it was collected, AEG will first notify users according to the contact information provided by the users.

Acceptance of Privacy Terms and Conditions

Your access to and use of this Site is subject to this Statement, to the current Terms of Use available on this Site, and to all applicable laws. Such access and use indicates that you fully accept, without reservation, these terms and conditions. From time to time, it may be necessary for AEG to revise this Statement, so it is recommended that you check here periodically as you are bound by such revisions.
