Medical Assisting

Medical assistants represent one of the fastest-growing occupations in the nation. The job outlook for this career is excellent, particularly for medical assistants who have had formal training.

Today’s busy medical facilities, including group practices and clinics, are hiring more medical assistants to support the work of physicians and other healthcare staff. Those who can work in both the clinical and administrative sides are considered particularly valuable.

Anthem College Online offers an Associate of Science degree completion program for medical assistants who have already earned a diploma in the field and want to advance their careers. This online degree completion program focuses on advanced topics beyond the diploma level, including healthcare compliance and supervising staff. It can help medical assistants move forward into supervisory positions such as shift leads.

Students in this program must have worked for at least one year in medical assisting or have completed a clinical externship in their diploma program.
