G.I. Jobs is a magazine for people who are transitioning out of the military. The challenges that many of us face, such as finding a job or going to college, can be even more difficult for these former soldiers who have just spent a number of years in a military setting.

We are happy to announce that the magazine’s website just released its 2012 list of Military Friendly Schools.

And guess what… Anthem College Online is on it!

According to the Military Friendly Schools website, each school had to meet specific standards in order to make the list. A panel of higher education administrators was responsible for researching and scoring each school based on the following standards:

    • 45%for Effort 1, defined as certifications, programs and policies, which measures a school’s non-financial efforts to recruit and retain military and veteran students. This includes things like VA-approval to accept the GI Bill, SOC membership, academic credit for CLEP and ACE, flexible learning programs and much more.
    • 35%for Effort 2, defined as financial commitment, which measures a school’s financial efforts to recruit and retain military and veteran students. This includes things like Yellow Ribbon program membership, tuition benefits and percentage of overall recruitment budget.
    • 15%for a school’s results, or success, in recruiting military and veteran students.
    • 5% to other categories including a school’s academic accreditations.

Each school was given a final score. This score determined whether or not a school made the Military Friendly Schools List.

Anthem College Online’s career-focused programs include:

In early 2011, Anthem College Online partnered with the Arizona Veterans for Education Foundation to develop services for veteran and active-duty military students. Since then, we have worked to establish these services and better help our veterans succeed in college.

Some of the services we offer include potential credit transfer options and a military tuition rate that is available to all qualified students who are active duty military, spouses, or dependents of active duty military; and armed forces veterans and their spouses and dependents.

Anthem College Online is also approved by all branches of the military for tuition assistance and Veterans (VA) Benefits. We honor:

    • Armed Forces Tuition Assistance for Active Duty Service Members
    • MyCAA for military spouses
    • Montgomery GI Bill
    • POST 9/11 Veterans’ Benefits.
